It took a while to write this. Once I installed Facebook and started inspecting it, I found myself forty five minutes later staring blank at the screen and drooling on my index finger. I was apparently stuck browsing and lost sense of time. It's a problem I generally have while on my desktop computer too (well, not the drooling part, that was just for shock value). Of course, I've customized my feed to see fewer breakfast photos and more news about Syria. You can imagine that I'm not a very popular person. However, I do stick with Facebook for the messenger part.
Facebook for the Android OS crams in as much features as possible. The idea is to have a comparable functionality with the Facebook website, since many people have replaced their desktop system with a tablet or phone these days. That actually makes Zuckerberg a very happy tribesman. Because now he can not only track what silly sheep think, but also where they Check In on a regular basis. Oh, I know it's very trendy to let everybody know where you eat, shop or pull weights (if you even do that), and having this app is a godsend, right? Well, it may be until you get to think the "wrong" thoughts.
You can browse your feed and access links using an included browser. This allows you to go back to your feed quickly, so that you can catch up with what happened while you were away (yes, I'm sarcastic). Using the app might be better than the mobile website since it features a higher ergonomic optimization. However, constant updates in the vein of bloatware might ruin your experience before long. I have personally renounced it after discovering the 'Lite' version.
- everything you can find in the desktop version
- including games
- check in feature
Get a life and stop wasting your time staring at your phone. Who knows what opportunities pass you by while you're nose deep in your news feed. You may not necessarily be searching for a mate, but life's too short to waste it like this, especially since our well being is being attacked from all fronts. So yeah, get Facebook for Android ;)
